I was able to hold his hand and tell him I loved him last night, and alas, he has departed for his next adventure, sometime after my mom and I tucked him into bed. Travel well, dear Father.
Ben, Your Dad was a hugh inspration in my life and he always will be part of my life. You Jeanne and Brian where very very lucky to have such a great man as a father. He is and will be sorely missed! Give our deepest condolence to your mom. Patti and Larry Headrick
Yes, I'm just gutted to not have my dear dad around. It hasn't sunk in fully yet. I keep thinking of things I want to show him, or tell him, and then it hits me that he's gone.
Larry, it is so great to hear from you! I have so many fond memories of you. Btw, dear old friend, I am pretty sure you were the very first patron of my artwork! Hope you and Pattie are well. Much love,
I wish I had known him. I might have something more insightful and personal to write. What I can say is that I want to express my condolences to you and your clan. You must miss him. My dad went on his next adventure when he was 53 years old. I hope you can feel the big hug I am sending you. I can imagine that your father is happy that you are on your adventure of writing books. I am honored to know you. I can say I sat next to you in high school. May God's love be with you.
Ben, I grew up with your family in San Jose many, many years ago and have wonderful memories of your Father. We even have a few pictures tucked away that he drew for us .... wonderful memories. I hope all of your family is doing well.
Ben, My name is Michelle Mandell and I hope that name is familiar to you...my grandmother is Helen and I have to tell you that Uncle Art always amazed me. We were at Aunt Marilyn's house one day in San Jose and I tossed your dad a napkin and begged him to draw something for me and he said don't worry I will send you something on paper. Unfortunately, it never happened but I do get to enjoy your dads work at my grandmothers and my dads house. I'm sorry for your loss, he was an amazing guy. I just spent time at my grandma's house in Reno and she has a lot of his work up on the wall...you don't see talent like that anymore. God bless you and your family. Michelle

How do words describe the man who was bigger than life....with a heart to match. How lucky we were to call him our dad...our fabulous dad.
Thanks Larry, and same to you sis,
